โœ… Before You Donate or Recycle โ€” Checklist

  1. Back up all photos to Google Photos or iCloud (or a computer via USB cable).
  2. Back up contacts โ€” they should sync automatically with your Google or Apple account.
  3. Sign out of all accounts: Google/Apple ID, banking apps, social media, email.
  4. Remove your SIM card and any microSD card from the phone tray.
  5. Android: Settings โ†’ System โ†’ Reset โ†’ Erase all data (factory reset).
    iPhone: Settings โ†’ General โ†’ Transfer or Reset iPhone โ†’ Erase All Content and Settings.
  6. After reset, verify that Find My iPhone / Google Find My Device is deactivated.
  7. If donating: include the charger cable if you have it โ€” it significantly increases usefulness.
